Privacy Policy
The UKCP requires all its members to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality around everything told to them by clients, and this automatically includes the highest levels of privacy around their data. Therefore I keep the bare minimum of handwritten notes as an aide memoire for sessions, which are stored in a secure cabinet. I hold client emails and invoices on my own password-protected computer, but no session notes are kept digitally. I also store client phone numbers and email addresses on my smartphone. No information or data about a client is shared with anyone else or any other organisation. My supervisor may know only the first name of a client but nothing else that could be used to identify them. After a client has ended therapy I am obliged to retain the notes securely for the length of time stipulated by the UKCP and my professional insurance, in case of any disputes. After this time has elapsed, all notes are destroyed.
